Perth Wildcats coach, Rob Beveridge, has put his foot in his mouth ahead of Friday’s NBL Championship opener against the Breakers.
He made the comment to stuff.co.nz that:
“New Zealand have done a tremendous job from when they first came into the league as easybeats. You think every year now they’re going to be in the playoffs, and that’s what they say about us.”
However, this doesn’t make sense. They had a bad record at the start of their first NBL season, but they had a good run toward to end of the ordinary season and managed to in a position where they would have made the playoffs if they won their final game. Doesn’t seem like the “easybeats”. Just saying.
Well done, Bevo. You don’t understand the league you coach in.
