STMN: Beef and Vegetables (and a fungus) in a cheese sauce

If my place was Masterchef (and thank god it’s not, given that show is shit), tonight would have been the invention test. I started out wanting to make Sweet and Sour Beef but, as I tried what  I’d done before adding the sweet and sour sauce, I thought that it might taste nice with a cheese sauce instead. I put a small amount of cheese sauce in a bowl and added a little of the mixture – boom, it was great.

  • Beef mince
  • Carrot
  • Onion
  • Mushroom
  • Cheese sauce

  1. Cook the mince in a pan.
  2. While waiting for the mince to brown, chop onions and mushrooms, and grate the carrot (you could chop it, but it is easier to grate it.
  3. Once mince has cooked, add the onion, mushroom and carrot.
  4. When the vegetables (and fungus) have cooked, season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add the cheese sauce and cook until heated.

It’s a pretty easy one and only takes about half an hour. That was a little unfortunate, given I had allowed at least an hour – and that was for an early dinner… Oh well, meant I had a very early dinner.
