Last Friday, we had the Breakers and the Tigers. I called the Breakers by 10, and they got it – by 10. This week, we’re back to Thursday games this week, with the Breakers taking on the Blaze at the NSEC.
It’s going to be a big one. After last week, the Breakers are back on top of the iiNet NBL Championship ladder – this despite the Breakers only having one person in the top five of any statistic, with import Cedric Jackson showing the competition how to make an assist or two, leading the competition with 5.6 assists per game.
The Blaze are in fourth place after ending their three game winning streak against the Taipans on Friday. I don’t see that making a difference in this game though, given most teams seem to up their game against their trans-Tasman rivals, with emphasis there on Gold Coast, Wollongong and Perth.
This one’s likely to go down to the wire, which isn’t going to be good for the Breakers, who have a double header this round, playing Adelaide on Sunday.
I’m giving this one to the Breakers by 15, only because Abercrombie, Jackson and Wilkinson seem to be a huge team up at the moment, somewhat unbeatable, it seems. Not that I’m biased at all…
