Twitter API Problems sorted? (with thanks to @twitter and @twitterapi)

This morning, I got a reply from @Twitter regarding my API problems. I wouldn’t say the result is ideal, but it is still pretty good.

What has happened is the news feeds down the bottom have been replaced with @Twitter Gadgets. This means that instead of the request coming from my website, it is coming from your computer. As there are 6 of these widgets, it means each person can have 11 page views every 60 minutes, assuming you don’t make any other API requests. My personal twitter feed is still running with the old system, which means you can have more views (albeit one more view per hour) and the website can have 70 views per hour until my personal twitter stops displaying.

As I say – its not ideal, because it has completely changed the look of the website. It looks slightly out of place. But regardless, it is the best we have access to right now. Thank you for your patience while this was sorted out. Hopefully this will keep the site, you and @Twitter happy.
