A very similar look to this week at the top and bottom of the league – Perth and Wollongong having a great week, Melbourne and Townsville doing quite badly.
The Breakers started the round again in Auckland. The game was a lot closer than it should have been. Probably would have been a different story if the referees weren’t making the standard terrible call. This season, while the referees better at not looking like they favour teams, the number of bad calls is probably higher than I’ve ever seen it. They’ve added bad calls to the other team in an attempt to even it out, rather than get rid of the bad calls.
It was a heart-stopping finish at the NSEC, with Mika Vukona making the difference.
The middle of the table has swapped around a fair bit this week, even though the top and bottom are exactly the same. Currently in the top four is Perth, Wollongong, Adelaide and New Zealand.
Here’s the ladder this week.
My pick for Player of the Week: Mika Vukona.
